Track playing “The Happiest Christmas” -
Hello to everyone that reads the updates on the Derby Central Website.
Many regular readers who followed these posts will know that this year has been a mixture of lots of emotions for our family, our little foster boy moved in to his new family and then my own brother was killed in a car crash. So it is with lots of mixed feelings that I started to write this Christmas message.
Our little foster boy X will be spending his first Christmas with his new family and I can only imagine the excitement in that house. His new sister will be excited that Santa has been and wanting to share her excitement with him with Mom and Dad joining in the fun.
Since foster boy X moved on we had a little girl (3years) staying with us and she has now also moved on and will be spending Christmas in unfamiliar surroundings, we remember them both in our thoughts and prayers.
We now currently have a small baby girl in the house so I guess our Christmas will be very different this year.
Then, on the other hand there will be many people like myself who have lost loved ones, families will be spending time without their Dad, Mom, Husband, Wife, Brother, Sister or their son/daughter. In the festive season it is very easy to forget these people and the hurt and pain that they are still living with. Please remember these people this Christmas and maybe even go the extra mile to help spread a good word of cheer.

Christmas has always been my favourite time of the year, each year I go out and look for a present for my Sharon that is not only personal and practical but something that is also permanent. Hopefully something that she can enjoy using over and over again and not just lasting for a few days (like an ironing board? – better not!).
It was Christmas day over two thousand years ago that God sent his gift to earth of his Son.
John 3:16 says……..
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
This gift was a personal gift, it is there for you and me this Christmas, God so loved you that he gives you his son!
This gift was a practical gift, he actual came to earth to do something for us and that was to die on the cross “for us”. By doing this he forgave our past sins and gave us new life once we accepted him and then he has promised us eternal life and hope for the future (how fantastic is that!).
Please can I ask you this Christmas to receive Gods gift.
It's permanent!
Its Practical!
and its already purchased!
Where ever you are this Christmas the gift of Gods son is there for you, just unwrap it!
