

Geoff Arnold
Joined the band in 1981.
Retired from work as a peripatetic teacher of brass at Pingle school and William Allit school in 2000. Married to Iris for fifty three years with two sons Andrew and Nigel.
Commissioned a bandsman in January 1947 at Swadlincote Geoff played in the band of Staffordshire Regiment for three and a half years and with William Booth Memorial Halls band for two years when not committed to Swadlincote band. Also guested for weekends with Mansfield and Burton bands, then three weekends with Derby Central before moving to Derby.
Joined band reserve in May 2001 but started playing again after two years. At Swadlincote Geoff held positions of Deputy bandmaster, band secretary and bandmaster. Is also a member of East Midlands fellowship band.
