Fun

Derby Central Band were privileged to be part of the Corps Anniversary Celebration at Leighton Buzzard (120 years)

More chairs were needed in the hall for the Saturday evening programme as bandsmen grew anxious knowing several staff bandsmen were taking their seats in the congregation. The music from the band included:

Marches: Salvation song (William Gordon)

The Fount (A Gullidge)

Jubilee (Paul Drury)

Solos: Someone Cares – David Purkiss (Cornet)

This is my story – Jonathon Smith (Cornet)

We are the reason – Andy Ward (Vocal)

Features: The Magic flute (Arr. Michael Kenyon)

Glorifico Aeternum (Dean Jones)

Island Dreams (Martyn Scott Thomas)

Deep River (Arr William Broughton)

Three Kings Swing (William Himes)

Las Lluvias Grandes (Peter Graham)

Arrangements: Be Still (arr Keith Wilkinson)

Such Love (Graham Kendrick arr. Paul Drury)

All to Jesus (Eliv Herikstad)

The Mission (Ennio Marricone arr. Frank Bernaerts)

Leighton Buzzard songsters took part in the programme, singing “God and God alone.”

The whole programme was accompanied by a power point presentation which had been thoughtfully prepared by James Milner, we also heard thoughts from Martyn Page and James Hunter.

Derby Central Band would like to thank the corps folk of Leighton Buzzard for the lovely tea which was prepared upon arrival. We hope the band programme was enjoyable for you and that you had a good time with the Territorial Commander on Sunday.
