Salvation Army Crest

Fun

Our own Majors (Ted and Freda Benneyworth) led the programme with items included from many of the corps sections.

A particular favourite was the nativity – performed by the primary, with so much controversy in schools currently, we are proud that our children have the opportunity to learn and enact this marked event.

Following a number of weeks uncertainty on the opening of Derby Playhouse, the carol service is finally upon us.

Carols for all 2007

Two very well attended performances proved what a sadness it would have been if we had not been able to hold this annual event in the Playhouse.

The band took centre stage for the performance to begin along with the timbrelists, as the music played the songsters, young people and primary joined the band on stage, finishing the first piece with a few lines from “Hark the Herald Angels sing.

Due to the uncertainty of the future of Derby Playhouse we are unable to tell at this stage how much money was collected from ticket sales, this money is usually divided between several charities and as soon as we have relevant amounts and charity beneficiaries we will let you know.

We hope this continues to be a annual event so keep your eyes on the website for information regarding Carols for all 2008!
