Band Visit - Sheffield Citadel 2009

Derby Central band are delighted to be able to present an evening of music at Sheffield Citadel, for a return visit, after Sheffield Band visited Derby a number of weeks ago, the band were looking forward meeting again with friends and family in Sheffield.

After an interesting coach journey (even using a Sat. Nav.) the band arrived at the beautiful hall recently built for Sheffield, and were able to familiarise themselves with the surroundings.

The programme included solo’s by David Purkiss (cornet) playing Caprice for Cornet, Darren Willis (Euphonium) playing In Christ alone, Jonathan Finnity (Flugel) playing beyond the blue, Colin Sneade (Bass) playing Czardas- accompanied by Graham Eacott on piano, a trombone feature – when I survey.

Hopefully the people of Sheffield enjoyed the evening as much as the band enjoyed presenting this music to them.

Other band pieces included Roll call, El Es El Senor, the mission, mighty to save, fanfare to worship, faith is the victory, my strength, my tower, wade in the water and gracious is the Lord.
