

YP Band -
The young peoples band and singing company really enjoyed this Saturday night visit they made to Warrington. The grandparents of two members (Corine and Tom) are the Commanding Officers at the Corps.
The young people set off from Derby at 3.15pm and arrived at Warrington to enjoy a hearty tea of burgers, hot dogs, chips, beans followed by Chocolate cake or apple crumble and cream.
The band pieces included: How firm a foundation, take it to the Lord, Glory, Whosoever heareth, Divine right, rejoice and sing, They need Christ and Southdown
Singing Company pieces were: Do Lord, Always there, The Lord’s prayer (accompanied by Naomi – Flute) God’s power, Amazing love, Once again (I look upon your sacrifice), Purpose for life and Carry the light.
The programme also included a piece from the timbrels, testimonies from Christopher and Emma F, a recorder solo by Emma S (or was it a clarinet Jess!!!!), violin solo by Hannah and a flute solo by Naomi.
During Emma’s testimony she spoke about how she started life in the Singing Company and Young Peoples band and how this would be her last time in the band, Emma moved from the Singing Company into the Songsters a while ago but now feels it is time to move on from the young peoples band.
