Worksop 2007
This was very much a weekend of two halves.
Saturday evening the young peoples band and the Central singers were invited to Worksop for their Young Peoples anniversary celebrations.
Sunday Afternoon the Young Peoples band returned to Worksop with the Singing Company and the remainder of the Sunday School for an activity afternoon and then a praise meeting in the evening.
The corps folk at Worksop seemed to really enjoy the weekend thoroughly and had a very special moment when one of their juniors was made a Senior Soldier. The weekend was very special to Adele and her family.
During the Saturday night programme our Young peoples band played several pieces including “Toward the Victory” the youngsters have been working very hard on this piece in recent weeks and they played it very well.
On Sunday the band played “Daniel” which is another difficult piece (made harder by the fact that we have no percussion section) but they did really well and everyone appreciated their hard work.
The Singing Company joined forces with ALL the youngsters from Derby and Worksop to sing “purpose for life.” No one could fail to be heartened by the seven year old from Worksop that is profoundly deaf but joined in heartily with singing along with everyone else – she was obviously singing what she could feel and the joy in her heart was evident to all.
